For some time, Peter had his own practice at Pleasant Boulevard Dentistry. However, he and his staff have recently joined forces with us to form a larger team--providing us with a broadened range of skills and services. Peter first became associated with Anaesthesia Associates in 1995, co-incident with the arrival of the Toronto Raptors (he is the team dentist). We are thrilled with the new arrangement...as is Peter.
Peter Nkansah received his dental degree from the University of Toronto. After completing a dental internship at Toronto Western Hospital, Peter returned to the University of Toronto for his diploma in Dental Anaesthesia. He is one of only 40 dentist-anaesthesiologists in Canada. Peter is also a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. His patients consist largely of dentally anxious, medically compromised and mentally handicapped persons.
He is a Past President of the Ontario Dental Society of Anaesthesiology, and the current President of the Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia.
Teaching
Peter
enjoys the interactions and challenges of education. To that end, he is a
clinical instructor and lecturer at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University
of Toronto in the Department of Anaesthesia. He also lectures with the University
of Western Ontario and the Ontario Dental Association and speaks privately
for numerous associations and study clubs at home and abroad. He is also one
of the only dentists-instructors of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) in
the province of Ontario.
Peter has written several articles for dental journals including the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dentist, and Oral Surgery, Oral Pathology and Oral Medicine.
He is the pharmacology instructor at the Regency Dental Hygiene Academy.
Community
Peter
is active in the dental community and in the community at-large. In addition
to his regular teaching duties, he often speaks at high schools and at other
university faculties.
In the community, Peter is involved in several charity camping organizations.
Keenly interested in sports, Dr. Nkansah is the team dentist for the U. of T. sports teams and the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association.
And the most important detail... Peter and his wife, Chantal, are the proud parents of Maya, who is approaching her second birthday."
